"Write by the River," a writer's retreat, will be held September 17-19 in Garden Valley. Elaine Ambrose, author and owner of Mill Park Publishing, says the speakers include noted writers Tony Doerr, Gretchen Anderson, Alan Heathcock and Amanda Turner. The format includes a reception for informal mingling with the speakers and time for private writing. The sessions and meals will be at Elaine's cabin at Southfork Landing. Tentative cost is $100.
